Hi, I’m Amanda

the mom behind Hiking Moms of Tennessee. I am happiest outside, with nothing but the sounds of my kids exploring, birds singing, and all the life emanating from the forest. I started this blog because I want to help other moms experience that same joy, even if it feels a little overwhelming at first. I totally get it, hiking with kids can seem like a lot of work, but it’s so worth it.

I’m lucky to live in Tennessee, which has some of the most beautiful places to explore. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is my absolute favorite place. There’s something about it that feels magical, no matter what time of year it is.

I’ve always loved being outdoors, but it wasn’t until I had my first child that I really started hiking regularly. It’s been such a game-changer for my mental health and connecting with my kids. I love watching them get lost in their imaginations, using sticks and rocks to create their own little worlds. They’re so curious, never missing an opportunity to peek under fallen branches and rocks. My children have helped me slow down and see the world through their eyes, which has been such a gift.
